The Grid 2 : free bundles
 The Sensory Software web site offers a range of grid bundles which are available for download.
If you recently attended one of The Grid 2 sessions you will have seen Intelligaze (eye-gaze computer control) with The Grid 2. We used StarTalker (free grid bundle) to produce text-to-speech messages, to email and SMS and browse the internet in addition to other tasks such as playing music. A new grid bundle is available for download which has StarTalker adapted for eye-gaze. This particular grid set has been designed for Katherine, a primary school student, and is available for others through the on-line grid sharing.

The Grid 2 will soon be supplied with a new Grid Set called "Talktative" Talkative is a grid set for people who rely on symbols to identify words. Users can browse to the word they want through semantically structured grids. Talkative has a large communication vocabulary, and is available in versions with and without adult vocabulary. Read more about it at the sensory software site. It is available in Widgit symbols only, and once we have a copy of the file here, exisitng Grid users will be able to have a copy of this bundle if they wish.

Polyana 4 : *new lower price*
The Polyana 4 has a new lower price. As the exchange rate with the US dollar continues to improve we are happy to reduce pricing accordingly.
LightWRITER SL40 *update*
The new model LightWRITER SL40
has been out and about at demonstrations around Australia. It is also available for loan so that interested people can be ready to act as soon as it is ready for Australian release. Unfortunately the release date has been deferred until the first quarter of 2010. The manufacturer, Toby Churchill Ltd in UK has to make some changes to ensure it will pass the Australian telecommunications certifications.
Those who have trialled the SL40 so far have provided very positive feedback. Most have been existing SL35 users who have greatly appreciated the intelligent word prediction in the SL40. This facility has made a dramatic difference to the communication output of some evaluators. Others have liked the 'notebook' section for storing talks or stories. The option to SMS directly from the SL40 has been a welcome addition. Head-pointer users who are finding the small keys and touch screens of modern mobile phones increasingly difficult to access will no doubt find this feature much more convenient.

Intelligaze : * trials *
Some people have taken the opportunity to try the Intelligaze for computer control. Generally the reactions include surprise at the responsiveness and accuracy of the system. The Intelligaze can be added to almost any existing computer monitor; and it will soon be available as a complete system with the Tellus 3+. A Daessy mount plate is built-in to the Tellus 3+; power will be portable.
Tellus Smart II *update*
 The Tellus Smart II scanning facility is now here. Those who have a Tellus Smart II already will have been advised of the procedure to upgrade the software to the new version. All future supply of the 'smart 2' will have the scanning option available. Scanning is applied to any grid you have created or any of the sample grids. An external switch is plugged into the switch jack or the entire display can be used as a switch.
Ex-loan and Used Equipment - is listed on the web-site. We will soon be listing some ex-loan adVOCAte units, and a current model Allora with Australian Realspeak). Generally equipment listed is adbertised on behalf of customers, who no longer require the equipment. In these cases you will deal directly with the seller. From time to time ZYTEQ will list ex-loan equipment which has generally had relatively little use.
